Laura Heyward
I have been drawing since childhood. Although I graduated from
the Maryland Institute of Art and worked on my painting there,
it was not until the late 1970's and early 80's, first in San Francisco,
then in Richmond that I really started to focus on painting. I grew
up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and my painting tries to convey
something about how we experience natural surroundings when we are
in harmony with them. I have been most interested in useing color,
and texture to express it.
