The Work of Catherine Poole
I am a colorist. I like to push the limits of colors,
making colors work that
aren’t supposed to work together. I work with bold
yellows and reds
complimented by cool blues and greens and the chromatic
use of black.
Energetic drawing and painting strokes are a part of my
work and
I’m interested in how a momentary gesture conveys a personality
or
an attitude. However, whether I’m working on a
figurative or an abstract piece,
the work is structured mainly by color.
